Physical disturbance of tidal areas by wave action of ships in the Scheldt estuary

The Scheldt estuary is economically and ecologically very valuable. Its ecological functioning is mortgaged by excessive estuary dynamics. In this project, one aspect of these dynamics is studied: wave generation by ships. On the one hand, factors of wave generation are evaluated; on the other hand, the effect of wave impact on physical disturbance of intertidal areas is investigated.
