Que Serre Serre
The housing supply for families in the relatively lower income brackets is inadequate, with social housing for the least-earning people and only the possibility for better-earning groups to buy houses.
Que Serre Serre draws inspiration from architectural developments in the field of conservatory construction and aims to provide an
intelligent adaptability in terms of structure and interior design. We propose an in-and extension principle for existing houses, taking into account affordability,
sustainability and social inclusion. By designing homes that reflect the diversity of modern families
, we aim to create supportive and inclusive communities. By applying modular
building elements, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, flexibility in design and functionality can be enhanced
The ‘Que Serre, Serre’ project explores three methods (3D printing, milling, casting) for production of construction nodes for conservatory profiles. Collaborations are set up with various partners and companies to develop new structural components and test the strength of the joints. A digital and physical database will be established.
The ultimate goal of the research is to develop a modular conservatory system that meets the demand for flexibility in contemporary living experiences. The result should be a method and model that enables efficient and adaptable building processes.
