Broeikas serves as a lead agency to strengthen cooperation between the two higher institutions of higher education and local policy, and to work together towards more entrepreneurial spirit among students (and young people) to ensure a dynamics of young entrepreneurship. The common thread throughout the story of Broeikas is the strong local partnership and anchoring to create an entrepreneurial context for young people and support them in all aspects of entrepreneurship.
The vision of Broeikas includes that all higher education students receive an entrepreneurial bath
that increases their innovative and entrepreneurial capacity (value creation entrepreneurship) and through which we support young people with an idea in its
its development into a profitable project or venture (corporate entrepreneurship).
It is the mission of Broeikas to create and facilitation. Broeikas wants to be the local hub for supporting entrepreneurial spirit among young people aged 18 to 25. Broeikas builds bridges between young people, entrepreneurs, local authorities and all other involved actors who can contribute to the above-mentioned vision. With creative and inspiring communication and always ready to guidance from its own expertise and experience, but also complementary cooperating with other actors, Broeikas wants to be at the service of all young people in its target group and contribute to a creative and enterprising region of Aalst. We hereby place an increasingly strong focus on circular and sustainable entrepreneurship, digitisation, robotisation, (thinking along with the city in the context of the Innovation Hub) technology, welfare and care.
The role as matchmaker within the ecosystem has already been proven in the past and always plays a crucial role in strengthening the ecosystem around young entrepreneurship and detecting and creating opportunities and new collaborations.
Our strong links with education, (local and national) policy and the entrepreneurial field, we are ideally placed to refer students and young people to the right partners, spotting and quickly picking up trends, creating cooperation and synergies, and passing on best practices or lessons learned to policy.
