Dual fuel generator methanol-diesel with electrification bow thruster

The pilot project is part of the larger Bumba City conversion project where a new Volvo Penta D13 stageV diesel generator will be installed in a pusher boat providing the electrical power for the bow thruster and pumping systems. ReMeth will convert the new generator to biodiesel and at the same time a dual-fuel injection system will be installed. This will allow it to start combining the benefits of biodiesel with the advantages of dual-fuel methanol. The complete system consists of a biodiesel tank integrated into the pusher and an additional Methanol fuel tank placed on deck. The room where the dual-fuel methanol generator is built up will be equipped with a safety system with methanol detection, automatic shutdown methanol feed pump and automatic tank shutdown
