Bridging Borders in Perinatal Palliative Care: Advancing Collaboration, Awareness, Education, and Policy
The "Bridging Borders in Perinatal Palliative Care" initiative aims to enhance awareness, collaboration, and policydevelopment on Perinatal Palliative Care (PPC) in Ethiopia. Focusing on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3and 5 the project addresses critical gaps in PPC, especially in Ethiopia, where only 5% of those in need receivepalliative care. The collaboration between Jjmma University - Jimma University Medical Center (JUMC, Ethiopia)and PXL (Belgium) seeks to improve access to PPC through training, infrastructure development, and stakeholderengagement. Key outcomes include standardized PPC protocols, integration into educational curricula, and scalablepolicy frameworks. The project prioritizes marginalized communities, emphasizing gender equality, sustainablepartnerships, and inclusive care. By leveraging shared expertise and fostering systemic change, it aims to create areplicable model for improving PPC delivery in resource-limited settings.
