The research proposal "Creativity in Choral Pedagogy" explores how creative
approaches, such as composing and improvising, can be naturally integrated into amateur choir rehearsals. Traditionally, choirs focus on performing (notated) music, but creative processes can enhance the musical development and personal expression of choir members (Hickey & Webster, 2001). This research, conducted as a practicebased
study, follows three phases: a literature review and ethnographic research (1),
the practitioner phase (2), and the finalization of data analysis and the dissertation (3).
The goal of this study is to provide creative methods for choir leaders, conductors, and music educators who aim to incorporate creativity into their choir rehearsals across various music education contexts.
