Ctrl + Alt + Food + Shift
Driven by sustainability, health, and economic realities, many food companies face the challenge of adapting the raw materials in their food products. In this project, "Ctrl+Alt+Food+Shift," POM West Flanders, KU Leuven, VIVES, and Flanders' FOOD are committed to providing targeted and substantiated support to companies in a Controlled Shift to Alternatives within the food sector. To achieve this, the partners are focusing on closer collaboration between all stakeholders (SMEs and large companies, knowledge institutions, civil society organizations, etc.), with a focus on: 1) further community building around food and health; 2) a strategy exercise on the shift to alternative raw materials; 3) guiding companies to access the available knowledge and expertise, as well as the lab and pilot infrastructure of the knowledge institutions and the incubator as an integrated whole. This last point responds to the needs of (West) Flemish food companies, often SMEs, with limited options for product and process innovation in a (scientifically) substantiated manner.
