MAGNETO – Towards a spin-off with innovative electro-acoustic pickup technology

In previous research, we discovered a new type of acoustic pickup that combines several unique advantages: low sensitivity to feedback, natural sound reproduction, and a user-friendly, fully passive design. While the system was initially optimized for integration during the manufacturing of bowed instruments, its potential applications extend much further. We aim to capitalize on this market opportunity through the creation of a spin-off company.
In this project, we will focus on:
i) The technical optimization and validation of the pickup system for use in pianos and guitars, as well as the development of a universal stick-on variant.
ii) The protection of the generated intellectual property.
iii) A detailed analysis of relevant market segments.
iv) The development of a go-to-market strategy and business plan for the spin-off
