Selecting a logistics software package with the right functional, budgetary and cultural fit is a prerequisite, but not a guarantee of a successful implementation. Implementing new software such as ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), WMS (Warehouse Management System) and TMS (Transportation Management System) requires a lot from an enterprise. Although the course of an implementation varies from organization to organization, there are some unwritten laws that are prerequisites for a successful implementation. Proper preparation is crucial to the success of the project.

In the context of these issues, the expertise cell Log-IC (Logistics Intelligence Center) of PXL University of Applied Sciences, together with Hasselt University and the project partners, has engaged in the research project 'ProLog-IC: Professional handling of logistics ICT' (Information and Communication Technology). As a result of this project, an implementation methodology has been developed with useful working tools. This methodology will support SMEs in implementing their logistics software package.
