Sustainably wet processed hemp and flax into cottonised fibre, suitable for textile and non-woven industry
In the SWIFT R&D project, flax and hemp processor Jos Vanneste, FTILab+ (HOGENT) and STEN (UGent) are conducting research into sustainable wet pre-treatments for short hemp and flax fibres, with a view to using the fibres in high-quality textile products (including clothing and non-wovens for hygienic and medical consumables).
