Towards Transdisciplinarity
Currently, as part of the Maxlab project '(e)co-creation', collaborations have emerged, with digital artists tackling certain aspects of their research in co-creation with technological researchers. These collaborations are seen as very valuable. Therefore, we want to continue to make this possible in the coming year by consolidating our collaboration with the Immersive Lab. Just like this year, we will give an assignment to Lowie Spriet, technological researcher of the Immersive Lab, to go into dialogue with Maxlab researchers and work with them on a transdisciplinary level. Transdisciplinary research is defined as research efforts conducted by investigators from different disciplines working jointly to create new conceptual, theoretical, methodological, and translational innovations that integrate and move beyond discipline-specific approaches to address a common problem. This transdisciplinarity we want to develop during "internal" residencies, where Maxlab researchers can spend a certain period of time in the Immersive Lab of the AP University College. Together with partners such as Gluon and iMAL, we want to explore if we can make this structure available to external artists from September 2024 with the budget that will be available next year.
