Virtual Production Studio Network 2.0
Virtual Production (VP) transforms digital content creation by enabling real-time visualization and collaboration in film, animation, and game development. The VPSN 2.0 research project builds on the first project iteration and aims to strengthen VP education in Europe through accessible, sustainable, and industry-focused training. Despite the growing demand for VP professionals, VP training in higher education remains limited by high costs, complex technology, and a shortage of experienced instructors. This hinders the connection between education and industry. VPSN 2.0 aims to become the leading knowledge center for VP in Europe.
The research project aims to improve VP education, develop learning materials, strengthen soft skills, and promote sustainable production practices. The project includes in-depth market analyses, hands-on VP workshops, and the development of open-source learning packages. Partners from five countries are collaborating with industry experts and using AI tools such as Wonder Dynamics and Runway to modernize VP training. A train-the-trainer approach ensures broad knowledge dissemination.
VPSN 2.0 will contribute to a better understanding of VP in higher education, bridge the gap between education and industry, and prepare students for a rapidly evolving job market. The project promotes interdisciplinary learning, sustainable production, and international collaboration within the creative digital sector.
