Policy domains
The Council of Flemish Universities of Applied Sciences and Arts works on a range of themes: educational programmes and organisation, research and innovation, internationalisation, university management and services, and the arts.
These themes are divided into different policy domains, each with its own working group. The working groups are similarly structured: they bring together the thematic directors from the 13 universities of applied sciences and often include staff members from ministerial cabinets or other government bodies. This approach combines the expertise of various partners and channels it into well-founded proposals.
The working groups meet regularly to develop recommendations and position papers, which are then submitted to the board of directors. The board makes the final decision and presents the approved position to regional and federal authorities as well as other key decision-makers.
