The aging population poses a significant challenge, with a projected 22% increase in the number of people aged 67 and older between 2023 and 2033. This demographic shift underscores the need to better prepare and support healthcare providers in caring for the elderly.

This research project focuses on developing and investigating an evidence-based, realistic in situ simulation training (ISS) course, supplemented by an e-learning as pre-learning, for care teams working in a hospitalization unit in a general hospital and regularly interacting with older, geriatric care recipients (whether or not).

The training emphasizes the strengthening of clinical reasoning within geriatric care, the importance of human factors and interprofessional collaboration, with the ultimate goal of strengthening the care of geriatric care recipients.
