International student mobility and Global South partnerships - How ethical are our practices?
Breakout Session 6
Project
University Centre for Development Cooperation - Brussel - UCOS
2016-2021
Much
has changed (thankfully) in decolonizing international partnerships of
higher education institutions. However, we need to remain vigilant that
we do not only change words and discourse, but also change practices on
the ground and remain critical of the unequal power relations, our
prejudices, and possible colonial mindsets.
This session will touch on the various actions that have been taken the past 5 years towards meaningful international cooperation, and look forward to what work still needs to be done.
- Context & current issues with international mobility
- Principles of ethical mobility
- Decolonizing mobility
- Case study & questions
