LUCA School of Arts is a creative hub for almost 5,000 people: more than 4,000 students and 800 colleagues. The expertise network Artistic Practices at LUCA School of Arts offers a position for a candidate interested in a teaching assignment in the arts, embedded within the expertise team Music Performance.

There are 2 positions available.

The proposed start date is 15/10/2026.

Key Responsibilities

As a Guest Lecturer main subject Piano, you teach within the Music Performance programme. You develop and deliver inspiring classes aligned with the learning objectives of the programme. In addition, you supervise students in their projects, bachelor papers, master thesis, assignments and contribute to their professional and artistic development. You help foster a positive dynamic within your class and actively engage in collegial collaboration with other lecturers. Finally, you participate in team meetings and provide input for the further development of the curriculum.

• You have extensive experience as a performing musician on national and international stages.
• You demonstrate strong pedagogical skills.
• You combine artistic excellence with pedagogical insight, are inspiring, and foster students’ self-development.
• You have experience in higher music education.
• You develop and implement a clear strategy for the recruitment of national and international students.
• You guide students in their artistic research.
• You are a team player who collaborates constructively with colleagues.
• You can communicate fluently in English and/or Dutch.
• You are committed to the mission, vision, and educational policy of the institution.

• A contractual fixed-term appointment (min. 20%, max. 50%) as Guest Lecturer in salary scale

Employment and contractual conditions

• Upon recruitment, a maximum of 10 years of relevant professional experience can be recognized, unless teaching experience exceeds 10 years, in which case all teaching experience will be recognized.
• If your contract as Guest Lecturer is renewed and you have been employed for two years, you will receive an open-ended contract in the third year.

An initial selection will be made based on the applications. You may be invited for a trial lesson and an interview on 02/10/2026.

After trial lesson and the interview, all successful candidates will be ranked. The candidate who scores highest will receive a job offer first.
